What I like about Chris Murphy……When I began my training program I needed a personal trainer that would both motivate me and teach me “how to exercise”. Chris is helping me achieve my fitness goals and is extremely accommodating – he comes to my house 2 times a week at 5:15 am, which fits into my busy schedule. He is very encouraging (even at 5:15 am) and very knowledgable about fitness programs and nutrition. I have lost almost 20 pounds in 5 months. Yes, this has been a slow process, but I’m making a life style change and my goal is wellness along with weight loss. Chris has supported me with every pound, push-up and squat jump. (Which I now know what a “squat jump” is and can do them!) I highly recommend Chris as a personal trainer — he’s awesome!

Coach Murphy is an excellent trainer. I have been working out since I was in high school but never used a trainer. I read a lot and worked out with people who knew what they were doing. But now that I am 41, I need all the help I can get! And Coach is by far the best. We have been working out with him since the beginning of January. We work out 2 times a week and have never done the same routine! He mixes it up and pushes us to our limits. But the best thing is that he isn’t mean about it! He is always motivational and watches out for our health and well being. And I have lost 13 pounds!! And he comes to our house!! I can do one more better…he also has an assistant that pushes us as well. Coach and her work with 8 of us and 4 of us are kids!! They ensure that the kids are getting the proper techniques and are learning the importance of eating healthy and staying active. Our kids play sports year round and this little extra has them staying fit and being better prepared for when their sports seasons start up. And most importantly, they teach them safely…it’s all done with their own body weight! Also, our kids get to learn why it’s important to take care of your body always…because their parents took about 12 years off and we are struggling to get back into shape!! My names MacKenzie and I work with Chris a few days a week. I’ve worked out many times before I started working with him but I never saw results. He shows you the proper way to work out so you get the results you want and get them quickly. In high school and throughout college, I have always been a fairly active person, playing numerous sports and running a half marathon. Since then, I’ve tried to keep up with a semi-active lifestyle by running fun 5k’s whenever possible and going to the gym and exercise classes regularly. But it wasn’t enough. After a hard day’s work teaching, going to meetings, tutoring, and other various school-related activities Monday through Friday, it was very difficult to push myself to work out every day. I knew I didn’t want to feel that way, I wanted the gym to be part of my daily routine and something I looked forward to, not something I felt like I had to do. I have always said that I just needed someone to come to the gym with me and tell me what to do. One day, in conversation with Coach Murphy, he explained to me that he was a personal trainer. I immediately started asking questions and began training with him and my roommate in June of 2015. My roommate, Chelsea, and I started training with him before work in the morning. At first, it was a bit of a struggle, but I LOVED working out before my body even understood what was happening. I was thrilled that I already had a workout in before my day even got started. Now, we still workout together but after school and on weekends with a group of ladies! Coach Murphy always comes to workouts with a big smile and full of energy and encouragement. He trains us with care and compassion and will do whatever he can to make our experience rigorous, fun, and goal- achieving. Between random phone calls just to check in and say hi, to his persistent FitnessPal update reminders, He genuinely cares about each and every one of his clients. He goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is happy and being accommodated. Coach Murphy is beyond well-qualified to teach and train his clients to be the best they can be. Over the last 4-5 years, I let my busy work and family schedule become my excuse for not working out. I believed that since I walked around school all day, I was getting all the exercise I needed.
